Very handy!
These work like a charm for holding thread while doing art and craft. Perfect tool for delicate work!

Don't need to change instruments to cut thread.
As stated there is no need to stop and get a pair of scissors to cut your suture or ask an assistant to do so. However I did need to file down the edge on the jaws, the suture would catch on them when throwing a tie. But it easily filed them down only took about 5 minutes a piece to do so and now they work great.

Real Needle Holders
They are the original needle holder, they are just the largest set I have seen. I am used to them being about 3/4 this size. Can't say I have used them yet, but that is a good thing.

It will many uses over the years.
I used the needle holder to see up a seam in a leather chair using a round needle. Impossible to do without something to hold it.
