This small kit will save your time
Now you can make six different shapes of common orthodontic bandings with composite resin (the composite resin and light is not included in the kit).
This kit has six small flexible plastic moulds to make different shapes.
You can make;
an orthodontic bracket,
bond lingual wire on the upper or lower anterior teeth (fixed retainer),
make lingual or buccal buttons to engage orthodontic elastics and
make tongue tamers or bite turbos for habit braking.
The procedure is very simple. Simply fill the attachment of the required shape with the composite resin that you have in your office and gently press against the tooth surface and exposed to blue activating light. Then pull back the attachment with gentle movement. The job is done.
How to bond lingual fixed retainers: Most common procedure performed with this kit to bond the fixed retainers to the lingual side of lower anterior teeth.
- Before bonding, measure the length from canine to canine. Then cut a twistflex wire of 0.012 of the length or double a 0.01 dead steel wire. Most of the time these are six lower anterior teeth. You can also bond for the six upper anteriors if you think the bite will not create a problem. The length of the twistflex wire should start from the center of the one canine and end to the center of the other canine. It is a good practice if you make the both end in a circular shape. That would bond more strongly.
- Etch the surface where you are going to bond.
- Put the primer on the etched surface, find the attachment, attach it to the handle, Cut the lingual retainer wire of the length matching to anterior six, put the wire in position and then gently press the composite in the attachment on the tooth and expose to the light.
- Start bonding from the lower left canine, it will give you a better look of the wire position while bonding. Repeat the bonding procedure on each tooth starting ting from the canine to the lateral and central and the other central, then the other lateral and last one is the right canine. Keep the wire in the center of the teeth.
- Once it is done, use the bur to cut the extended wire, if any , at the canines, and then use the while araknsas polishing stone to make the composite softer left at the edges.
Close Bite cases: Where the bite is too close and the wings of the regular bracket do not allow the opposite tooth to get in to the bite, You can make a bracket there with this kit that would have rounded edges that can be easily trimmed according to your requirements. If you see the wire if slipping off the bracket, add some composite over the bracekt and it will hold it firmly.
If you are new to this kit, do the bonding procedure on an extracted tooth first.
Once you know the procedure, you can bond the lingual retainer in less than ten minutes whereas it usually takes thirty minutes without these small bonding tips.
